I see where you’re coming from but I must be a pretty dense fat child because I still keep going back to the damn chocolate :(

I’m surprised to say this but I totally agree with you. Ignoring the craving, coming up with mediocre substitutes has caused me in the past to eat three time of what I actually wanted…if only I just ate what I wanted. I think that making that choice needs to be conscious though.

If you eat a little of what you fancy it won`t do you any harm.

I am curious as to what others will say about this video. You saying to give into your cravings. But I agree! With me, the more I think about it, the more I want it. Even when I try NOT to think about it, I’m still thinking about it. The problem with me is, I have cravings all the time! LOL I am working on it, and am getting better. Its a slow process, but one with great rewards in the end!!!! Thanks Jason

Great advice! Don’t go without, reinvent! Eat what you want just make a healthier version. That is one of the major keys to success and it’s what turns a diet into a lifestyle!

I agree..I try to distract my craving away and if I just can’t get rid of it then I will eat it. I’d rather not obsess and then super binge. So I indulge a little to avoid craziness.

smacking your inner fat child ahahahah I love it!!!!.. This works for me as well. Sometimes i get cravings so bad that nothing else will cut. I would say only indulge your craving if you are constantly craving it. Because what will happen is if you dont have it you will eat a whole bunch of other stuff to replace that craving :) just my thought

You know Jason, I think that was a smart thing to say, “just eat it” When I start craving something I try to avoid it, next thing you know I’ve “Sampled” everything in the house, then turned around and ate what I was craving! And I love the idea of reinventing that craving food!

I find cravings so fascinating.
For eating the craved food, personally I’d add go with real food. Go all the way! It’s healthier.. For example, if you’re craving a hamburger, go for a real freaking hamburger with protein packed meat.

Side note: A few years ago I tried to be a vegetarian but still ate really terribly. I was tired ALL THE TIME. It turns out I had a B12 deficiency. I stopped being vegetarian. Although I didn’t eat a lot of meat, being able to realize when I was really craving it helped me have much more energy!

That being said, it is true that we often crave things that we aren’t actually lacking. I’m still not sure how to deal with emotional cravings =/
